Letting go of Summer
......and some other musings.
This is my first blog entry since the month of July. It is now November. My goodness where is time going?! The biggest reason I have 'allowed' blogging to stop for so long is because I spent most of the summer working on a sparkly new website design. Have you clicked around? Please do! So much thought (and countless edits) went into making the new site more user friendly, clean and just plain aesthetically pleasing. Then summer faded to fall while I put the finishing touches on this new site, and soon after wedding season swept in with the ferocity of a hurricane. I am so so thankful for all the growth and activity this year has brought. I have been fortunate to meet and work with so many amazing people that have all brought joy and depth to my life and craft. My hands have addressed hundreds of envelopes, I shot piles and piles of film. Even a year ago I could not imagine being so lucky as I feel today with the creative freedoms and fabulous people I get to work with.
So now here I sit sifting through months of work and don't even know where to start. Let's just do a little dump of my personal summer favorites shall we? Okay. These frames are from a hot afternoon by the Chattahoochee river, an evening on a blanket with fruit and summer reading, and a quick trip to Savannah. Summer is by far my favorite time of year. The mood, extra long daylight hours and lush colors are unparalleled. Honestly I wish I had taken more personal photographs but I think I was too busy reveling in the warm sunshine. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this small collection. All shot on medium format film - a mix of Fuji 400H and Portra 400. Please excuse the choppy flow as I get my blogging sea legs back! I figured it best to warm back up with personal work so I can bring the heat for my client images.
